Trip Leaders and climbing guides are responsible for taking photos of each group.
While we follow "No News is Good News" for our Overnight Expeditions, we try to send out photos as we receive them throughout each trip.
-
You will receive a link to our camp evaluation form on the Monday following your child’s week of camp along with the email containing camp photos.
-
Parents/Guardians will receive emergency contact information at drop-off.
-
You will receive an email the week prior to the start of your trip.
This email will include information about:
Leaders & Participants
Packing List (this will also be sent in your registration Confirmation Email)
A basic itinerary, including campsite locations and expected activities for each day
Health Information & Allergies
-
Each season, we ask that families upload Petra Cliffs wellness forms (signed by campers’ pediatrician) and vaccination forms to our camp registration portal.
Participants will receive automatic reminders to upload these throughout the spring.
Please note that this information must be from within 24 months of the session for which your camper is registered.
-
If your child requires medication during the Expedition, please email the Camp Director in advance.
-
Please notify us if your camper has a severe food allergy at least 7 days before your group's departure date. Our meal plan for each trip can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions.
-
Each camper receives a sweet treat at the end of each trip! The cooler at Petra Cliffs is stocked with a variety of Hershey’s ice creams, which can meet most common food restrictions (dairy-free, vegan, nut-free).
If you have concerns about your camper's specific dietary needs, please email the Camp Director.
Gear & Logistics
-
Overnight Expedition groups typically stay at campgrounds close to known climbing locations. Exact locations vary by trip, campsite availability, and other factors.
Leaders sleep in their own tents at the same site. Campers will be split up between a few multi-person tents on the same campsite.
Camper sleeping arrangements are determined by multiple factors, including camper gender expression, camper comfort, available tents, etc.
If you have specific concerns about your camper's sleeping arrangements, please email the Camp Director.
-
The packing lists can be found in the Expedition Family Handbook.
DO NOT PACK the following:
knives/weapons
fireworks
personal snacks (without prior approval)
electronics
-
We provide climbing gear (helmet, shoes, harness) for all participants.
If your camper has their own gear, feel free to send them with it!
We can provide sleeping pads and backpacks upon request.
