Outdoor Program Manager, Routesetter, & SumMAT Camp Assistant Director


Asha is dedicated to helping folks get outside and breaking down barriers to accessing outdoor recreation. She joined the Petra Cliffs team in Summer 2023 as the Assistant Director of SumMAT Camp and then moved into the role of Outdoor Program Manager. Asha joined the routesetting team in the fall of 2023.

Asha completed her MS in Forest Resources at the University of Maine, following her BS in Parks, Recreation, & Tourism and Ecology & Environmental Science. During her undergraduate career, Asha worked for the Maine Bound Outdoor Adventure Center where she guided outdoor trips, worked at an indoor rock climbing wall, and facilitated outdoor ropes course groups. Asha was the Gear & Rental Manager for the center where she oversaw equipment rentals, trained staff in gear maintenance and rental systems, and served as a customer support specialist. She has extensive knowledge and first-hand experience with backcountry excursions, rock and ice climbing, and mountaineering.

Asha is especially passionate about introducing new people to outdoor pursuits; she has worked as a Climbing Wall Instructor and led multiple new student outdoor orientation programs for incoming freshmen at the University of Maine. As a Graduate Assistant for the Outdoor Leadership Program at UMaine, Asha developed programming and instructed college-level outdoor leadership courses. She is an avid winter adventurer and served as an Americorps member with the Catamount Trail Association where she taught cross-country skiing to kids, oversaw the use of multiple fleets of nordic ski equipment, and developed resources for backcountry skiers.
